Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the month-end financial close process, reviewing manual journal entries, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reports.

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional to take on a leadership role and contribute to the success of our client. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the month-end financial close process for various operating companies within the group
  • Reviewing manual journal entries from junior members of the Corporate Finance team
  • Reviewing and closing the AP module for all expenses
  • Reviewing and approving monthly balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliation
  • Generating and reviewing monthly and annual financial statements
  • Reviewing and approving monthly HST and WSIB payments and income tax installment payments
  • Providing coaching, training, and accounting development to junior members of the Finance team
  • Indirect management of 18+ staff at facilities reporting daily financial information into Finance team
  • Identifying and implementing new ways to improve quality and efficiency of financial processes
  • Managing day-to-day banking requirements
  • Conducting financial and non-financial analysis to make recommendations to senior management
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced accounting professional who possesses:

  • CPA designation
  • Minimum of 4 years working in an accounting position or relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite or Sage products would be an asset
