Job Title: Environmental Law Professor

Job Summary:

The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified Environmental Law Professor to teach and conduct research in the field of environmental law. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental law and policy, and will be able to teach and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses in environmental law and policy, including international and domestic legal frameworks, legal interpretation, and critical analysis of key case studies.
  • Conduct research in environmental law and policy, and publish scholarly articles and books.
  • Develop and implement curriculum and assessment strategies that align with the University's academic goals and standards.
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
  • Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and professional development activities.

Requirements:

  • PhD in law or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong background in environmental law and policy, including international and domestic legal frameworks.
  • Excellent teaching and research skills, with a proven track record of publication and presentation.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching and mentoring students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Research experience in environmental law and policy, including publication and presentation.
  • Experience working with community partners and stakeholders.
