About the Role

The University of Ottawa seeks a passionate and knowledgeable Environmental Science Instructor to guide students through a comprehensive exploration of contemporary environmental issues.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate discussions on critical environmental challenges facing Canada and the global community.
  • Introduce students to diverse scientific approaches used to understand and predict the impact of human activities on ecosystems.
  • Analyze environmental science evidence and guide students in evaluating its significance.
  • Explore the concept of environmental sustainability from an academic perspective, fostering critical thinking and informed decision-making.

Qualifications

  • A PhD in Environmental Science or a related field is preferred. Candidates with significant (10+ years) work experience in environmental science coupled with a graduate degree will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting research or working on environmental science issues within a policy or regulatory context is essential.

Assets

  • Prior experience teaching university-level Environmental Science courses.
  • Experience instructing students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Extensive professional or research experience in environmental sustainability and/or environmental science, particularly within a policy or regulatory setting.

Note: Equivalencies in education and/or experience may be considered.
