Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile a designated portfolio of accounts receivable.
  • Manage various vendor programs and ensure accurate reconciliation.
  • Validate markdowns, process audit claims, secure necessary approvals, and allocate funds appropriately.
  • Address and dispute noncompliance penalties effectively.
  • Resolve pricing discrepancies, shortages, damages, and returns promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming payments, process credits, apply adjustments, and actively investigate any irregularities.
  • Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Assist in maintaining accounts receivable records to ensure timely aging updates, application of credits and collections, accounting for uncollectible amounts, and clearing miscellaneous differences.
  • Monitor customer accounts daily to identify aged receivables and initiate contact for payment collection.
  • Keep detailed records and generate reports on collection activities, including updates to systems and trackers.
  • Analyze and review aged accounts receivable monthly, collaborating with various departments to follow up on outstanding accounts for collections.
  • Provide general administrative and financial accounting support, including data entry and reconciliation tasks.
  • Collaborate with other departments as necessary to resolve disputes efficiently.
  • Manage large volumes of transactions and data effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, with a preference for degrees in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, preferably within the grocery sector.
  • Experience with Canadian retail chains is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks is considered an asset.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Strong proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) are required.
  • Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to multitask with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and computer skills are necessary.
  • Critical thinking skills to evaluate alternative solutions and approaches to problems.
  • Proficiency in time management is essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
