Atomic Cartoons is seeking talented Senior 3D Modeling Artists for a short-term contract opportunity.

As a renowned animation studio, Atomic Cartoons has established a reputation for excellence in both 2D and CG animation. With a commitment to fostering a creative and flexible work environment, we are looking for skilled artists to contribute to our exciting projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop high-quality models from the ground up that adhere to the project's technical and artistic requirements.
  • Efficiently manage tasks within production timelines while demonstrating self-direction.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and maintain a proactive approach.
  • Receive and implement constructive feedback from supervisors and directors promptly.
  • Coordinate with Look Development Artists to ensure seamless integration of models within the development and modeling workflows.
  • Engage with fellow artists to guarantee the accurate and artistic execution of developed assets.
  • Work alongside Riggers to ensure character models function properly within the rigging and modeling processes.
  • Communicate any pre-production and production challenges to supervisors and propose innovative solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the animation or visual effects industry.
  • Proficiency in software such as Maya, Zbrush, and/or Mudbox.
  • Ability to create intricate and precise models from 2D references or scanned data.
  • Strong understanding of clean line-flow for organic and hard surface modeling, along with basic environmental modeling skills.
  • A background in visual arts or design, showcasing a solid grasp of form, geometry, and movement.
  • Exceptional visual acuity and attention to detail.
  • Consistently meets productivity standards while delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
  • Familiarity with additional skills such as texturing, shading, rendering, or rigging is advantageous.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Python scripting is beneficial.
  • Experience with production tracking tools like Shotgun is an asset.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
