Atomic Cartoons is seeking talented Senior 3D Modeling Artists for a short-term contract opportunity.
As a prominent animation studio, Atomic Cartoons has a rich history of producing acclaimed 2D and CG animation projects. Our studios are known for fostering a creative and flexible work environment, making it an ideal place for artists to thrive.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop high-quality models from the ground up that adhere to both technical and artistic standards.
- Manage tasks independently while meeting production timelines.
- Exhibit a proactive and collaborative approach to work.
- Receive and implement constructive feedback from supervisors and directors efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with Look Development Artists to ensure seamless integration of models within the Look Development and Modeling pipelines.
- Engage with fellow artists to ensure the accurate and effective implementation of developed assets.
- Coordinate with Riggers for character models to ensure compatibility within the Rigging and Modeling pipelines.
- Keep supervisors informed of any challenges during pre-production and production phases, providing creative solutions as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the Animation or Visual Effects industry.
- Proficiency in Maya, Zbrush, and/or Mudbox.
- Ability to create intricate and precise models from 2D references or scanned data.
- Strong understanding of clean line-flow in organic and hard surface modeling, with a basic grasp of environmental modeling.
- A background in visual arts/design, showcasing a solid understanding of form, geometry, and movement.
- Exceptional visual acuity and attention to detail.
- Consistent productivity while adhering to deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
- Familiarity with additional skills such as texturing, shading, rendering, or rigging is advantageous.
- Experience with the Linux operating system is a plus.
- Knowledge of Python scripting is beneficial.
- Experience with production tracking tools is an asset.
- Eligibility to work in Canada is required.
