Atomic Cartoons is seeking skilled Senior 3D Modeling Artists for a short-term contract opportunity.
As a renowned animation studio, Atomic Cartoons has established a reputation for excellence in both 2D and CG animation. Our commitment to fostering a supportive and flexible work environment makes us a desirable workplace for creative professionals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop high-quality models from the ground up that adhere to both technical and artistic standards.
- Manage tasks independently while ensuring adherence to production timelines.
- Exhibit a proactive and collaborative approach to work.
- Receive and implement constructive feedback from supervisors and directors promptly.
- Collaborate closely with Look Development Artists to ensure seamless integration of models within the Look Development and Modeling pipelines.
- Engage with fellow artists to guarantee the correct technical and artistic execution of developed assets.
- Coordinate with Riggers for character models to ensure compatibility within the Rigging and Modeling pipelines.
- Communicate any pre-production or production challenges to supervisors and propose innovative solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience in Animation and/or Visual Effects.
- Proficiency in Maya, Zbrush, and/or Mudbox.
- Ability to create intricate and precise models from 2D references or scanned data.
- Strong understanding of clean line-flow in organic and hard surface modeling, along with a basic knowledge of environments.
- Background in visual arts/design with a solid grasp of form, geometry, and movement.
- Exceptional visual acuity and attention to detail.
- Consistently maintains productivity while meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
- Familiarity with additional skills such as texturing, shading, rendering, or rigging is advantageous.
- Experience with the Linux operating system is a plus.
- Knowledge of Python scripting is beneficial.
- Experience with production tracking tools is an asset.
- Eligibility to work in Canada is required.
