Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking an Accessibility Lead to join the Diversity Equity Inclusion Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating across portfolios and providing mentorship to staff and medical staff to advance EDI priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects, propose new initiatives, and liaise with other Vancouver Coastal Health programs to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Assume the roles of advisor, collaborator, and educator to promote inclusive practices and encourage others.
  • Develop partnerships with all VCH departments to adopt new inclusive practices and support the alignment of recruitment initiatives with the current and emerging needs of the organization.
  • Support the development of baseline metrics and KPIs for accessibility and measure progress and impact to drive decisions.
  • Actively support the creation of welcoming spaces where everyone can bring their whole selves to work and feel supported.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline such as Social Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Health Administration.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years' experience in EDI program and project management, as well as change management, organization development, engagement, training and development, and conducting program evaluations.
  • Applies comprehensive knowledge, skill, and experience in developing and implementing accessibility-focused recruitment, guidelines, tools, and training to educate and achieve a high level of diversity and inclusion hiring.
  • Sound knowledge of federal and provincial human rights and employment policy and legislation relevant to accessibility.
