Job Overview

As a Security Officer at Paladin Security, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the well-being of personnel and assets at our expansive camp located in the Squamish region. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and prevent any activities that may pose a risk to individuals, property, equipment, the environment, or the organization's reputation. Our comprehensive security strategy is designed to shield our operations from a wide range of potential threats and vulnerabilities, including negligent behavior, accidents, criminal activities, and unprofessional conduct.

Key Responsibilities:
**Access Control:** Conduct thorough verification checks for all individuals and vehicles entering the premises. **ETMP Verification:** Ensure all equipment, tools, and materials leaving the site are verified through the ETMP process. **Inspections and Searches:** Perform cursory inspections of all persons, vehicles, equipment, and cargo entering the site, with detailed searches conducted randomly or as necessary. **Patrols:** Execute random mobile patrols of all perimeters, work sites, docks, laydown areas, and facilities. Foot patrols may be carried out in specific buildings, particularly after regular working hours. **ID and Badging:** Require all individuals and vehicles entering the site to be registered with the project and provided with an ID card/badge or vehicle pass for entry. **Traffic Enforcement:** Utilize radar and other methods to uphold traffic regulations. **Policy Enforcement:** Implement all project policies through a combination of targeted security operations. **Traffic Control:** Manage traffic during peak periods, at incident scenes, during oversized load movements, and at other critical times. **Emergency/Security Dispatch:** Maintain 24/7 communication regarding incidents. **Incident Response:** Respond to and lead security incidents or site emergencies, conducting investigations as required. **Statistics Collection:** Gather statistics on various activities and topics related to security operations. Qualifications:
Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving abilities. Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License. Physical capability to stand and/or patrol for the majority of a shift. Ability to foster positive working relationships with team members, clients, the public, and emergency services. A commitment to an active lifestyle; patrols may occur indoors or outdoors, in all weather conditions, and may involve navigating stairwells and uneven surfaces. Experience in managing emergency situations, including trauma, aggression, intoxication, and bodily fluids. Basic proficiency with technology, including report writing on a computer, tracking patrols via smartphone, and communicating through two-way radios. Additional certifications such as CSTS 2020, PCST, or OFA1 are considered an asset.
