Position Overview

As a Camp Safety Officer with Paladin Security, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our camp environment. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring activities to prevent any potential threats to personnel, assets, and the overall integrity of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Access Management: Conduct thorough verification checks for all individuals and vehicles entering the premises.
  • Equipment Verification: Ensure all tools and materials leaving the site are verified through the established process.
  • Inspections: Perform cursory inspections of individuals and vehicles upon entry, with detailed searches conducted as necessary.
  • Patrol Duties: Execute random mobile patrols across all areas, including foot patrols of specific facilities, particularly during off-hours.
  • ID Management: Ensure all entrants are registered and provided with an ID badge for electronic access.
  • Traffic Oversight: Utilize radar and other methods to enforce traffic regulations within the camp.
  • Policy Enforcement: Uphold all project policies through effective security operations.
  • Traffic Coordination: Manage traffic during peak times and in response to incidents.
  • Emergency Communication: Maintain 24/7 communication regarding incidents.
  • Incident Management: Lead responses to security incidents and site emergencies, conducting investigations as required.
  • Data Collection: Gather statistics on various security-related activities.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
  • Physical capability to stand and patrol for extended periods.
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with team members, clients, and emergency services.
  • A passion for active engagement in diverse weather conditions and terrains.
  • Experience in managing emergency situations effectively.
  • Basic technological proficiency for report writing and communication.

Additional certifications such as CSTS 2020, PCST, or OFA1 are considered an asset.
