We are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapist to join our team at Shannex Incorporated. As a Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, focusing on rehabilitation and geriatric care.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise, train, and evaluate physiotherapy/occupational therapy assistants as necessary.
- Assess clients with physiotherapy-related concerns, such as decreased mobility, transfer concerns, range of motion, strength, balance, and pain control.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical records, observation, or referral, and confer with interdisciplinary staff regarding overall treatment plans for clients.
- Provide treatment services for clients using physiotherapy techniques or modalities, such as hydrocollator, wax bath, TENs, etc.
- Evaluate the progress of clients in relation to physiotherapy treatment provided, and confer with nursing staff and physicians regarding the effectiveness of treatment.
- Instruct clients in the care and use of wheelchairs, braces, canes, and prosthetic devices.
- Maintain an inventory of physiotherapy equipment and supplies.
- Prepare progress reports, funding requests, and statistical reports relating to physiotherapy treatment programs and client needs, and maintain treatment records as required.
- Train staff on back care, lifts, and transfers, and other relevant topics.
- Ensure client safety by following and applying all standard operational procedures, safe work practices, and training provided.
We are looking for a candidate with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy, current registration with the provincial College of Physiotherapists, and a minimum of two years of clinical experience, preferably in rehabilitation and geriatrics. Previous supervisory experience and experience working in long-term care are also essential.
