Culinary Instructor Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Culinary Instructor to join our team at North Vancouver Recreation & Culture. As a Culinary Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and interactive cooking and baking programs for adults, school-age children, and preschoolers.

About the Role

This is a casual position, with a variety of shifts available Monday to Friday. You will be responsible for lesson planning, food preparation, and delivering a premium cooking class experience to each student. You will also be required to set up and clean up cooking classes, create skills-based lesson plans, and ensure a safe and fun environment for all participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver cooking and baking programs for adults, school-age children, and preschoolers
  • Prepare and lead cooking classes, including food preparation and dishwashing
  • Create skills-based lesson plans, including Food Safe guidelines and best practices for food handling
  • Ensure a premium cooking class experience is delivered to each student
  • Instruct groups through basic recipes
  • Occasional grocery shopping
Requirements
  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Culinary aptitude and previous experience planning and leading programs for preschool, school-age, youth, or adult groups
  • Current Food Safe Level 1, Emergency or Standard First Aid, CPR Level C certification
  • High Five certification within 3 months of employment
