Culinary Arts Educator

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Secondary Culinary Arts Teacher to join our team at Windermere Secondary School. As a member of our school community, you will be responsible for teaching culinary arts and managing the school cafeteria.
Job Summary:This is a full-time teaching position that requires a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics or a related field. The successful candidate will have experience in a commercial kitchen and certification in Food Safe Level 1. The position involves coordinating with district food services and maintaining the safety and smooth operation of the commercial kitchen/teaching cafeteria.
Responsibilities:- Teach culinary arts and related subjects to students in grades 9-12
- Manage the school cafeteria, including meal planning, food preparation, and inventory management
- Coordinate with district food services to ensure smooth operation of the cafeteria
- Maintain a safe and clean commercial kitchen environment
- Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students
- Bachelor of Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics or a related field
- Experience in a commercial kitchen
- Certification in Food Safe Level 1
- Membership in or eligible to become a member in the Teacher Regulation Branch
- Registration with the Teacher Qualification Service
