Responsibilities:

As part of a dynamic team, you will create a safe and encouraging environment for adults to pursue their health and wellness objectives. Your role will involve developing and delivering high-quality exercise and educational programs tailored for adults who may be inactive or managing chronic health issues. You will also support individual and group fitness initiatives designed for older adults and assist in program planning and networking with partners and key contacts.

Qualifications:

Ideally, you should be a registered Kinesiologist, certified Exercise Physiologist, or certified personal trainer with 1-2 years of experience working with adults at risk of or managing chronic health conditions, including those who have undergone cardiac or stroke rehabilitation.

You should demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment, responding sensitively to diverse needs. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with staff, volunteers, and service agencies are essential. Experience as a YMCA personal trainer or group fitness instructor is an asset.

Please note that this position requires regular travel across the region, which may not always be accessible via public transportation. Candidates must arrange their own transportation. A valid G driver's license and access to a vehicle are strongly recommended.
