Special Needs Support Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Needs Support Worker to join our dynamic team at the Sudbury Catholic District School Board.
About the Role:The Special Needs Support Worker will be an integral member of the Autism Support Services team, working closely with students, staff, and families to provide direct support and services to students with special education needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct support and services to students with special education needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other behaviour-related disabilities.
- Design, implement, and deliver Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) strategies to address the programming needs of students who require intensive supports.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour intervention plans (BIPs).
- Provide training and support to staff on ABA principles and strategies.
- Conduct assessments and develop reports to inform student programming and support.
- Minimum 2-year program in a related field, such as Social Services Worker or Behavioural Science.
- Minimum 1 year experience working in a Behaviour Analysis role or Instructor Therapist role.
- Experience working with children and youth who have special education needs, particularly those with ASD and/or behaviour-related disabilities.
- Basic knowledge of the elementary and secondary education system in Ontario.
- Understanding of special education issues, including those relevant to children and youth with ASD and behaviour-related disabilities.
- School Board experience.
- Knowledge and experience of types of behavioural assessments.
- Current certification in Behaviour Management Systems or other similar training.
- Training in applied behaviour analysis principles from a recognized institution.
