Responsibilities:
Our dedicated healthcare team serves thousands of clients daily, ensuring they receive the necessary support to bridge the gap between their healthcare requirements and overall wellness, treating each individual as we would our own family.
The Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (NSWOC) will provide essential care to clients, facilitating their ability to remain in their homes and communities. The NSWOC Nurse is accountable for delivering and overseeing high-quality nursing care for individuals with actual or potential skin integrity concerns related to wound management, ostomy care, and continence nursing diagnoses. In accordance with provincial regulatory standards and practice guidelines, the nurse will perform safe, competent, evidence-based nursing care within their professional scope. Conduct assessments, collaborate with clients, families, and healthcare team members to create and update care plans, and implement and evaluate client care during each interaction while advocating for clinical needs. Evaluate clients for suitability for virtual consultations.Qualifications for Success:
A highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Certification in a recognized wound, ostomy, and continence program (NSWOC) or a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) program. Completion of at least 75% of the NSWOC certification is acceptable. Prior experience in community or acute care settings with a focus on wound care is preferred. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse schedule effectively. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Capability to foster relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. A minimum of two years of experience in community or clinical/hospital settings is preferred. Current certification as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the appropriate regulatory body. Certification in Standard First Aid & CPR/AED (Level C) is required. Current Mask Fit test certification is an asset.What to Expect:
