Overview:
The Food Safety Quality Assurance Specialist will play a crucial role in establishing, executing, and sustaining the SQF program at Cerelia Bakery Canada LP. This position requires close collaboration with the quality assurance team to ensure that all operational facets adhere to SQF standards and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the creation, execution, evaluation, and upkeep of the SQF system for our cookie production facility.
  2. Guarantee adherence to all SQF Food Safety Code stipulations pertinent to our manufacturing processes.
  3. Incorporate additional requirements as dictated by specific customer food safety protocols.
  4. Perform regular internal assessments to detect and rectify any potential food safety risks and discrepancies.
  5. Develop and maintain comprehensive SQF program documentation, including protocols, records, and reports.
  6. Lead and engage in inquiries regarding food safety incidents, pinpoint root causes, and implement corrective measures.
  7. Educate and train staff on SQF principles and practices to cultivate a robust food safety culture.
  8. Stay informed about the latest SQF regulations and best practices in food safety.
  9. Support the QA Manager during SQF certification evaluations, as well as third-party audits, and address any identified issues.
  10. Serve as a backup for the QA Manager when necessary.
  11. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and programs (GMP, Quality, Food Safety, and Health & Safety) consistently.
  12. Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in food production with an emphasis on food safety.
  • Completion of a HACCP training program.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SQF Food Safety Code V9: Food Manufacturing and its application.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Capability to draft clear and concise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Policies.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects concurrently.
