Overview:
The SQF Compliance Coordinator is responsible for the development, execution, assessment, and upkeep of the SQF program at Cerelia Bakery Canada. This position requires close collaboration with the quality assurance team to ensure adherence to SQF standards and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the creation, execution, assessment, and upkeep of the SQF system for the cookie production facility.
  • Guarantee compliance with all relevant SQF Food Safety Code standards associated with production operations.
  • Incorporate additional food safety program requirements specific to customers.
  • Perform regular internal audits to detect and rectify food safety risks and discrepancies.
  • Develop and sustain SQF program documentation, including protocols, records, and reports.
  • Lead investigations into food safety incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective measures.
  • Educate staff on SQF principles and procedures to enhance food safety awareness.
  • Keep updated on the latest SQF standards and food safety best practices.
  • Support the QA Manager during SQF certification audits and third-party assessments, addressing any issues identified.
  • Serve as a backup for the QA Manager when necessary.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and programs (GMP, Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety, etc.) consistently.
  • Carry out other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in food production with an emphasis on food safety.
  • Completion of HACCP training.
  • Understanding of SQF Food Safety Code V9: Food Manufacturing and its application.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in drafting clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Policies.
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective prioritization of tasks and project management skills.
