Position Overview:

We are seeking a proficient Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to become part of our team on a 0.6 FTE basis. As a CNS at Southlake, you will deliver direct patient care while adhering to the practice standards set forth by the College of Nurses of Ontario and Southlake Regional Health Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient-focused care within the CNS scope of practice
  • Operate in accordance with hospital policies and protocols
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members for optimal patient care
  • Contribute to care planning and assessment
  • Engage in staff orientation and training initiatives
  • Lead patient care coordination as necessary
  • Utilize resources efficiently and contribute to clinical pathways

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in critical care nursing
  • Expertise in ECG interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Experience in cardiac catheterization lab and procedural areas is advantageous
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Exceptional clinical and leadership skills
  • Dedication to patient safety and quality of care
  • Proficient in Electronic Documentation systems

Required Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS & ACLS certifications
  • Completion of a recognized Critical Care Course or equivalent experience
