Position Overview

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at our facility is integral in delivering direct patient care within the parameters established by the College of Nurses of Ontario and our internal policies. This position requires collaboration with the healthcare team, a commitment to continuous professional development, and a focus on providing outstanding care to a varied patient demographic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient and family-centered care within the CNS scope of practice
  • Work in partnership with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care
  • Evaluate and document patient health conditions
  • Engage in the formulation and assessment of clinical pathways
  • Take on leadership responsibilities in coordinating patient care
  • Effectively utilize available resources

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Possess knowledge and expertise in rehabilitation, geriatric care, and chronic illness management
  • Demonstrate strong clinical and leadership skills
  • Exhibit a commitment to patient safety and inclusivity
  • Possess excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) preferred
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
