This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a Dietitian, providing expert nutrition advice and care to patients across all health sectors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership in team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, including the prevention, detection, and treatment of malnutrition and medical nutrition therapy using the Nutrition Care Process.
As a member of our Nutrition and Food Services team, the Dietitian will contribute to client care through collaboration with healthcare team providers, sharing nutrition expertise, ensuring quality and continuity of care, and supporting a range of healthcare services.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and a Dietetic Internship Program. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of working experience as a dietitian and be registered with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively as a member of the interprofessional healthcare team, with a strong focus on providing excellent patient care and contributing to a positive work environment.
We offer a competitive salary of $43.43 per hour, with 11% in lieu of benefits and vacation. If you are a motivated and experienced dietitian looking for a new challenge, we encourage you to apply.
About You- • Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition at a recognized University
- • Dietetic Internship Program required
- • Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists required
- • Minimum one (1) year working experience as a dietitian preferred
- • Inpatient clinical nutrition experience is an asset
- • Competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition
- • Experience counselling patients
- • Current WHMIS an asset
- • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications.
- • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills
- • Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and work under pressure of time limitations
- • Demonstrated participation in continuing education and upgrading of skills
- • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of the interprofessional healthcare team
- • Competencies in other languages an asset
