JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: SHIFT PRODUCTION MANAGER
Strategically organizes shift operations and allocates production goals to team members to achieve optimal levels of safety, quality, efficiency, output, labor effectiveness, cleanliness, and adherence to production timelines. Oversees and evaluates batch processing tasks in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across various operational units, including charging of materials, distillation, filtration, sampling, and sanitation. Promotes a culture of 'Safety First' by ensuring compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols and regulatory standards among the production workforce. Guarantees timely reporting of safety incidents or near misses, conducts root cause analyses, and implements corrective and preventive actions within agreed timelines. Facilitates daily operational meetings in collaboration with cross-functional teams, striving to meet weekly and monthly production objectives while ensuring effective scheduling and execution. Ensures batches are produced safely and efficiently, adhering to master batch record instructions, with a focus on achieving weekly/monthly production goals, on-time in-full (OTIF) delivery, and customer satisfaction. Provides guidance and leadership to the production team through performance management, mentoring, recruitment, coaching, training, and implementing corrective measures as necessary. Ensures adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) by staff through the effective application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensures all personnel complete required GMP and skills training. Verifies that all GMP documentation, including batch records, cleaning logs, and other relevant records, are accurately completed in line with the ALCOA principle, thoroughly reviewed, and support the 'Right First Time' performance objective. Fosters a culture of audit readiness and drives positive compliance outcomes for regulatory audits, customer evaluations, corporate assessments, and internal reviews, representing the production team during these audits. Initiates change controls, deviations, and planned deviations, conducting investigations related to non-conformances, ensuring that corrective actions are executed as intended, and encouraging a proactive approach to problem identification and resolution. Maintains comprehensive records related to production equipment, cleaning processes, and operational procedures, ensuring that production equipment is properly maintained and inspected prior to use, and initiates maintenance requests as needed. Manages the time and attendance system for shifts, ensuring the accuracy of hours worked, vacation requests, and timely approvals for payroll processing. Reviews training documentation for onboarding and skill development to ensure completeness and addresses any identified gaps in training assessments. Envisions the team's learning objectives, future competencies, and training requirements, facilitating the execution of training plans through motivation and constructive feedback. Monitors process performance, identifies gaps, and takes the lead in reviewing master batch records and training for involved personnel. Owns and reports departmental key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, labor utilization, downtime, and schedule adherence to senior leadership. Participates in inter-departmental and cross-functional meetings with key stakeholders, contributing to the success of continuous improvement initiatives and client-driven projects. Leads continuous improvement and operational excellence projects aimed at enhancing employee development, process efficiency, equipment uptime, cleaning optimization, production efficiencies, and yield improvements using methodologies such as LEAN manufacturing and Six Sigma. Actively engages in cost-saving initiatives within the production department by focusing on industry best practices and aligning with departmental objectives.-
