Transaction Law Clerk

Job Summary:
Meridia Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Law Clerk to join our team. As a key member of our Financial Services Practice Group, you will contribute to the overall excellent level of service provided to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct due diligence searches and report on findings
- Assist with drafting closing documents and certificates
- Liaise with borrower's counsel to ensure smooth transaction processes
- Prepare and register PPSA liens in various jurisdictions
- Update and maintain client forms and precedents
- Accountable for all work assigned
- Take initiative to identify and resolve issues
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years experience as a Financial Services or Transactional Law Clerk
- Successful completion of a post-secondary Law Clerk program
- Familiarity with the PPSA and UCC or a willingness to learn
- Membership in good standing with Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when required
- Thorough knowledge of corporate statutes and relevant software applications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to problem solve and make sound judgments
- Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail
