Teaching Opportunity in Edmonton Catholic Schools

We are seeking a qualified teacher to join our team and deliver Nehiyaw Pimatisiwin Cree Language and Culture programming at six sites, serving over 800 students.

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge and understanding of the Cree language and culture, and will be able to offer practical strategies for building Indigenous perspectives into the curriculum.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a Cree Language Consultant and develop approaches for teaching Indigenous learners.

We are committed to building connections with Elders, Indigenous families, cultural instructors, and communities for a culturally relevant education.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor of Education Degree, a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate, and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Cree language and culture.

We require all teachers to be Catholic unless specialized in specific areas, including Lived Indigenous Experiences, Languages (Cree, French, Spanish, and Ukrainian), Music, and Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
