The Emergency Medical Call Taker is the first point of contact in emergency medical situations, providing critical support to the public via telephone. This role requires exceptional customer service skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a methodical approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service while handling high-pressure situations
  • Prioritize multiple tasks, use problem-solving skills, and communicate effectively
  • Take a leadership role, build relationships with team members and callers, and seek win-win solutions
  • Maintain professionalism in conflict situations and support differences of opinion

Requirements

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Valid certificates in Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
  • 2+ years' experience in customer service
  • Experience in a call centre is an asset
  • Fluent spoken and written English

  • Awareness of and commitment to learning about Indigenous cultural safety and anti-racism
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities
