The Emergency Medical Call Taker is the first point of contact for emergency medical situations, providing critical support to the public via telephone. Working in a dynamic call-centre environment, the EMCT gathers and shares vital information, serving as a liaison between the caller, dispatch team, paramedic crews, and hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service while remaining calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks, using a methodical approach to problem solve, make decisions, and communicate clearly.
  • Take a leadership role, building relationships with team members and callers.
  • Actively seek win-win solutions, maintaining professionalism in cases of healthy conflict.

Requirements

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Valid certificates in Standard First Aid and CPR Level C.
  • 2+ years' experience in customer service.
  • Experience in a call centre is an asset.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
