The Emergency Department Nurse Specialist will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
Providing nursing care to emergency patients, utilizing evidence-based practice and continuous improvement to optimize patient care
Collaborating with healthcare providers to enhance patient quality of life and family support
Participating in hospital committees and research projects to advance clinical competence and contribute to the development of best practices
Maintaining a high level of clinical competence and staying up-to-date with the latest developments in emergency nursing
About this location/unit:
The Interior Health Authority's Emergency Department is a tertiary referral hospital with 18 beds, 2 trauma bays, and a range of specialized areas. Our team sees a broad spectrum of patients, from trauma to medical emergencies, and works closely with BC Ambulance Services to transport patients to our hospital. We are currently undergoing an expansion, which will see our Emergency Department more than double in size, offering Level 1 Trauma Centre services and single patient rooms.
