Position Summary

As a Senior Financial Analyst at CAT Inc., you will report directly to the Director of Finance for Real Estate. This pivotal role involves enhancing processes and managing monthly financial activities. You will thrive in a dynamic environment, identifying opportunities for improvement and leveraging your strong accounting background. Your expertise in financial reporting, process enhancement, reconciliations, and consolidation will be crucial in this influential position, which demands professionalism, discretion, and exceptional organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting

  • Collaborate with the Finance Director on general accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and manage accounts receivable/payable reconciliations.
  • Establish internal controls and procedures for the Real Estate team.
  • Collect and reconcile financial data for the real estate portfolio.
  • Consolidate financial results for internal reviews.
  • Calculate USD revaluation and manage tax processes for various entities.
  • Maintain and update financial systems.
  • Oversee mergers and ensure compliance with regulatory reports.
  • Coordinate with external auditors.

Acquisition/Disposition Management

  • Manage the acquisition and disposition of properties, ensuring accurate legal registrations.
  • Update tenant income on the rent roll as necessary.
  • Create new business entries in the accounting system when required.

Information Systems

  • Work with the Information Systems team on technology decisions.
  • Participate in implementing a building management system.
  • Ensure governance rules are applied to protect company data.

Financial Analysis

  • Familiarize yourself with company information systems.
  • Develop tools for analyzing the profitability of properties.
  • Recommend improvements to IT systems.
  • Create dashboards and financial indicators for management.

Financial Management and Risk Management

  • Coordinate financial planning and budgeting for properties and the real estate department.
  • Assist in cash management efforts.
  • Identify and manage business risks effectively.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Great Plains) is a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • CPA designation.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
