Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst - Real Estate to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in helping to improve our financial processes and activities. You will be responsible for collaborating with our Director of Finance Real Estate to identify areas for improvement and implement changes. You will also be responsible for financial reporting, process improvement, reconciliations, and consolidation.
Key Responsibilities
ACCOUNTING
- Collaborate with the Finance Director to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and reconciliation.
- Manage bank reconciliations and accounts receivable and payable reconciliations.
- Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Collect and reconcile financial data for our real estate portfolio.
- Consolidate financial results for internal review.
- Perform USD revaluation calculations and tax processes for each company.
- Ensure the financial system is up-to-date and accurate.
- Coordinate activities with external auditors.
ACQUISITION/DISPOSITION MANAGEMENT
- Manage new acquisitions and/or dispositions of buildings, including obtaining legal information and updating the rent roll.
- Create new businesses in our accounting system as needed.
INFORMATION SYSTEM
- Collaborate with the Information System team to implement a building management system.
- Ensure the application of governance rules regarding the protection and integrity of company data.
FINANCIAL ANALYSIS
- Develop tools and processes for analyzing the profitability of each building owned.
- Recommend improvements related to company IT systems.
- Develop dashboards and financial indicators for managers and make recommendations to improve results.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND RISK MANAGEMENT
- Coordinate the financial planning process and budget for each building and the real estate department.
- Collaborate on cash management.
- Identify and manage business risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Accounting title (CPA).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position.
- English (spoken and written).
- French (spoken and written).
