Director of Operations, Medical Affairs

The First Nations Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operations, Medical Affairs to provide strategic leadership and direction to the medical staff governance function. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing human resource strategies, including qualifications, recruitment, compensation models, cultural safety and humility standards, and leadership development programs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical affairs, with experience working with medical staff, physician compensation models, and contract templates. They will also have in-depth knowledge of the First Nations health and wellness system needs and social determinants of health in BC, including the In Plain Sight report and recommendations.
The Director of Operations, Medical Affairs will work closely with the provincial Ministry of Health, health authorities, and Indigenous Services Canada to advance medical governance related matters and ensure the integration of the medical staff lens and voice into the planning and decision-making processes.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor's degree in Public Health Administration, Health Care Administration, or Business Administration, or a relevant field. A Master's degree would be an asset. You will also have relevant, recent, and significant experience working with medical staff, within BC's healthcare system, and with Indigenous individuals, communities, and/or organizations in the area of health and wellness.
You will have experience planning, supervising, and evaluating programs and services, as well as in-depth knowledge of physician compensation models, the Physician Master Agreement, Joint Standing Committees, and contract templates. You will also have knowledge of the Primary Care landscape in BC, particularly as related to the BC First Nation led Primary Care projects.

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full-time equivalent hours. Incumbents are typically hired, transferred, or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience in relation to the role requirements.
