Job Summary
We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Sous Chef to join our team at Red's Wine Tavern. As a key member of our culinary team, you'll be responsible for delivering exceptional food quality, consistency, and efficiency in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to manage kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory management, and labor control.
- Develop and implement menu items, specials, and promotions to drive sales and customer engagement.
- Lead and mentor junior staff members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
- Collaborate with the Front of House team to ensure seamless service and exceptional guest experiences.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, menu innovations, and culinary techniques to maintain our high standards of quality and excellence.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management (an asset).
- 2-3 years of previous kitchen management or supervisory experience in a comparable restaurant environment.
- Must have Smart Serve, Food Handlers, and Red Seal certifications.
- Strong attention to detail, proactivity, and assertiveness in driving results.
- Ability to operate with flexibility, adaptability, and a sense of urgency.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits (an asset).
- Passion for food and a background in high-level hospitality.
- Previous experience with scheduling, inventory, product cost, and labor control (an asset).
