Metal Fabrication Worker Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Worker to join our team at Lex Metal Fabricators Ltd.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal products.
  • Immerse metal products in cleaning solutions to ensure a high-quality finish.
  • Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, or other metal workers in various tasks.
  • Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools to achieve precise results.
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas to ensure a clean and efficient workspace.
  • Load and unload vehicles to facilitate the transportation of materials and products.
  • Read and interpret work orders to understand specific tasks and requirements.
Requirements:
  • Physically demanding work environment.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Handling heavy loads and working under pressure are required.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
  • Tight deadlines and ability to work efficiently are necessary.
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) weight handling capacity.
  • Team player with initiative, efficient interpersonal skills, accuracy, judgment, and organization.
  • Experience is an asset, but not required.
