About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at Pearson Metal Inc. as a Metal Fabrication Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, as well as other metal shaping and bending machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to join metal parts together
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment to cut metal to precise specifications
  • Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping and bending machines to shape and form metal
  • Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or fill holes, indentations, and seams
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure high-quality welds and metal fabrications
Welding Techniques
  • Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW)
  • Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
  • Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG)
  • Gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
  • Flux core arc welding (FCAW)
  • Plasma arc welding (PAW)
  • Submerged arc welding (SAW)
Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in metal fabrication and welding
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of metal properties and welding techniques
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment
Work Environment
  • 40 hours per week
