About the Role

Alberta Health Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in Fort McMurray. As a vital member of our interdisciplinary Addiction and Mental Health team, you will provide supports to individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-informed services to individuals, groups, or communities, with a focus on occupational performance.
  • Act as a direct service provider, consultant, educator, or advocate, and function as an integral health care team member.
  • Engage individuals, groups, and communities to enable meaningful and chosen occupations, including self-care, productivity, and leisure.
  • Support clients to achieve optimum functional abilities and independence related to their cognitive, affective, spiritual, and physical strengths and limitations.
Requirements
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.
  • Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with periodic review, consultation, and evaluation from a Manager or Supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in Addictions and Mental Health.
  • Concurrent capable.
