As the primary and often the most frequent point of contact for our clients, you will have a significant opportunity to shape the client's perception of Evertz. This role presents a demanding blend of technical expertise and customer service skills, both in-house and during visits to our clients' production studios and distribution facilities.

You will be tasked with configuring, commissioning, and systematically troubleshooting Ethernet/IP networks for the latest innovations in broadcast networks and video processing technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the implementation, documentation, and deployment of both small and large-scale IP Networks that support broadcast infrastructures.
  • Provide technical guidance to customers regarding operational challenges, firmware updates, and general maintenance.
  • Evaluate the customer's application, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues through research and/or re-creation to identify the root cause.
  • Suggest solutions using various levels of technical language suitable for the customer in a timely, clear, and professional manner.
  • Maintain a communication link between customer service and other departments by collaborating to resolve customer issues and conveying customer feedback to assist in design modifications, including customer 'feature requests' to product managers.
  • Aid in the development of product communications by creating or authoring customer guides and supplying the technical writing team with information such as Pinouts, FAQs, Application notes, Best Practices, and customer product or system configurations and product integration with other manufacturers' products.
  • Install products or systems at customer locations and provide training to customers either in-house or internationally.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols such as RFC 2328, PIM, QOS, RIP, Sflow, SNMP, STP/RSTP/MST (IEEE 802.1d), VARP/VRRP, VLAN (IEEE 802.1q), VRF.
Required Qualifications
  • A strong desire to assist the customer and deliver exceptional service.
  • Education in Computer Networking or relevant recent practical experience.
  • Background in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Electronic Technician or engineering education or relevant recent practical experience.
  • A solid comfort level with Linux is highly preferred.
  • Some experience in network troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of IP Networking Protocols (IGMPv2/v3, RIP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
  • Understanding of Internet network technologies (DNS, Firewall, SSH).
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
