About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Grill Cook to join our team at DQ Grill & Chill. As a Grill Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and ensure that all food is handled and presented in a safe and appealing manner.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that they are clean and well-maintained, and take steps to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illness.
  • Staff Training and Supervision: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure that they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, and take steps to prevent waste and optimize inventory levels.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean kitchen and work areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation, and ensure that all equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and sanitized.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support for Persons with Disabilities: Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Support social and labor market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, and provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment.
  • Support for Youths: Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth, and provide mentorship and coaching to help them develop their skills and achieve their goals.
  • Support for Veterans: Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Veterans, and provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities, and provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
