Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Manitoba Aerospace Full time

NATIONAL OCCUPATION CODE: 12101

POSITION TYPE: PERMANENT, FULL-TIME

Are you an Indigenous individual passionate about educational and professional growth? Do you aspire to collaborate with prominent aerospace firms in Manitoba? Do you take pleasure in engaging with individuals and assisting them in reaching their aspirations?

If this resonates with you, Manitoba Aerospace presents a remarkable opportunity. We are a non-profit entity dedicated to collaborating with the local aerospace sector to cultivate a proficient workforce. To fulfill this mission, we engage with Indigenous organizations to address the demand for skilled personnel. We hold the belief that diversity and inclusion are vital for the ongoing prosperity of the industry.

We are in search of a driven Indigenous Recruitment Coordinator. Your primary responsibility will be to attract and retain Indigenous candidates for training initiatives that can pave the way to careers within the local aerospace and aviation sectors.

You will collaborate closely with the Centre for Aboriginal Human Resource Development (CAHRD) and Neeginan College to formulate and execute recruitment strategies, offer support services to trainees and employees, enhance awareness of the aerospace sector within the Indigenous community, and foster an understanding of Indigenous matters within the local aerospace industry.

Additionally, you will have the chance to learn from some of Manitoba's leading aerospace experts and acquire invaluable insights into the industry.

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • Indigenous identity
  • A degree or certification in education, psychology, sociology, behavioral science, human resources, or social work
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in recruitment, marketing, or outreach initiatives
  • Familiarity with local Indigenous communities
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and/or weekends.

Previous experience in aerospace or aviation is not a prerequisite. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to the suitable candidate.
