The Durham Catholic District School Board is seeking a qualified French Immersion Teacher to fill a Long-Term Occasional (LTO) position at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic School.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching French Immersion students in grades 1 and 2, providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and social growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach French Immersion curriculum to students in grades 1 and 2
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective educational program
- Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress
Requirements:
- Certification in good standing from the Ontario College of Teachers
- Primary Basic Qualifications
- French as a Second Language Part 1 Required, with native-like fluency
