Medical Device Reprocessing Technician

This role is part of the Medical Device Reprocessing Department, responsible for the decontamination, sterilization, reassembly, function testing, and distribution of medical and/or surgical supplies and medical devices for the operating room and various areas of the hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Perform detailed technical duties related to medical device reprocessing
- Operate MDR-related equipment
- Ensure adherence to infection control measures and routine practices
- Collaborate with the team to achieve departmental goals
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain certification
- Grade 12
- Successful completion of an approved Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program
- Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Certification
- Formal education in anatomy, medical terminology, microbiology, and infection control
- Membership with the Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Nova Scotia
- Previous experience working in the setting
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
