Medical Device Reprocessing Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for performing a series of detailed technical duties related to the decontamination, sterilization, reassembly, function testing, and distribution of medical and/or surgical supplies and medical devices for the operating room and various areas of the hospital.
In this role, you will work closely with our team to ensure the highest level of quality and safety in the reprocessing of medical devices. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment, as well as maintaining accurate records and reports.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a strong background in medical device reprocessing, preferably with certification and experience in a similar role. You will have a Grade 12 education and completion of an approved Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program, as well as formal education in anatomy, medical terminology, microbiology, and infection control.
You will also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience operating MDR-related equipment and knowledge of infection control measures and routine practices are essential.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent full-time position with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. Shifts include days, evenings, nights, and weekends/holidays, with on-call responsibilities for the reprocessing of Endoscopes. You will be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
The hourly rate for this position is $21.68 - $24.56, with a signing bonus and relocation assistance available for successful candidates. We offer a competitive compensation package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
