About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Laborer to join our team at Carpet Plus Flooring. As a Construction Laborer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load, Unload, and Transport Materials: Safely load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from the work site.
  • Perform Pre-Operational Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Read Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Erect and Dismantle Forms and Scaffolding: Safely erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as required.
  • Instruct Apprentices: Provide guidance and instruction to apprentices on construction techniques and safety protocols.
  • Mix, Pour, and Spread Materials: Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt as required.
  • Clean and Pile Salvaged Materials: Clean and pile salvaged materials for reuse or disposal.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Clean Up Chemical Spills: Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
Work Environment

As a Construction Laborer, you will work in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions. You will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in areas with high noise levels.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Experience is an asset.
  • Physical Demands: The physical demands of this role include manual dexterity, repetitive tasks, and attention to detail.
