Overview: Our esteemed legal firm is seeking a dedicated Leasing Law Clerk to enhance our team. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a dynamic work environment in the legal sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and modify commercial lease agreements, including leases, subleases, offers to lease, and related documents.
- Coordinate and oversee lease due diligence initiatives.
- Prepare and/or register lease notices, short forms of lease, and other relevant title documents.
- Facilitate and manage commercial lease negotiations from inception to conclusion with guidance from a supervising attorney.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Leasing Law Clerk.
- Successful completion of a relevant post-secondary education program in legal assistance or law clerk studies.
- ILCO certification or a willingness to pursue it.
- Familiarity with title-related matters and the ability to interpret sub-searches is advantageous.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Adaptability to the evolving demands of the role.
- Proficiency in document comparison software such as Workshare Compare.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Suite of Applications.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong multitasking abilities, and the capacity to prioritize tasks efficiently. This role is well-suited for a proactive individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in the context of lease agreements.
