Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

ROUTE KING TRANSPORT LTD. is seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across various locations, working as part of a two-person team or convoy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive lighter, special purpose trucks and operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Load and unload goods, oversee the condition of the vehicle, and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, as well as oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo, transporting and handling dangerous goods.
Requirements:
  • Air Brakes Endorsement and a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Long-haul transportation experience and a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to handle heavy loads, physically demanding work, and repetitive tasks.
  • Efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, judgment, and the ability to work as a team player.
