Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Swine Production Specialist to oversee our hog farming operations. This role requires a strong background in livestock management and a commitment to maintaining high standards of animal welfare.

Qualifications
  • Education: College/CEGEP
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years in a similar role
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a rural setting that may involve exposure to various environmental factors such as dust, noise, and odours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of farm workers and harvesting teams.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and bio-security measures.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of livestock performance and production quality.
  • Select livestock for market readiness.
  • Oversee breeding programs and other livestock management initiatives.
  • Keep detailed logs of work activities.
  • Perform general farm maintenance tasks as required.
Supervisory Role

This position involves supervising a team of 3-4 individuals.

Equipment Proficiency

Experience with feeding and watering systems is essential.

Specialization

Focus on Agricultural Livestock Services, particularly in the swine sector.

Safety and Security
  • Must pass a criminal record check.
  • Driver's license verification is required.
Transportation Requirements

A valid driver's license is necessary for this role.
