Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Planning Scheduler to join our team at FortisBC. As a key member of our project management office, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective provision of forecasting, coordinating, scheduling, and monitoring PMO capital projects and related activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project management office, engineering, operations, and operations support service functions to develop and implement master schedules for short and long-term planning and scheduling activities.
  • Utilize designated scheduling systems to create and maintain schedules, rebalance resource/work requirements, anticipate peaks and emergencies, and make plans for contingencies from both an equipment and resource perspective.
  • Plan, organize, and deliver critical path schedules for projects and project proposals based on project milestones, attending to scheduling requests, changes, and revisions to project plans.
  • Prepare workload reports, determine project health and critical path schedules, evaluate team metrics, and prepare and present project planning and scheduling status reports to management.
  • Monitor and be accountable for the scheduling control system, participating in quality improvement initiatives for the scheduling process in concert with stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary Business Diploma/Technical Diploma or equivalent in a related and applicable discipline.
  • Two to Four years of experience in resourcing and/or project management services.
  • Knowledge of resourcing and/or project management services and processes.
  • Sound working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling project software.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize work.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information and solve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within demanding work schedules.
  • Valid BC Driver's License.
