Senior Benefits Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Benefits and Pension Specialist to join our Compensation and Benefits team at Siemens Energy Canada Limited. This is a fixed-term temporary position, lasting 15 months, starting in July 2024 and ending in September 2025.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering benefits and pension programs for Siemens Energy North America. You will work closely with our 3rd party administrators and service providers to ensure the successful administration of our benefits and pension programs, identifying opportunities for continuous process improvement. You will also extract reports and conduct analyses to support benefits and pension plan administration.
You will support and lead assigned activities associated with quarterly and annual compliance requirements, prepare materials for board meetings and leadership team updates, and craft effective communications for HR, managers, and employees regarding benefit programs, using various communication channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer Canada benefits and pensions
- Stay up-to-date with Canada laws and regulations impacting HR, Compensation, and Benefits
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with 3rd party administrators and service providers
- Extract reports and conduct analyses to support benefits and pension plan administration
- Support quarterly and annual compliance requirements
- Craft effective communications for HR, managers, and employees regarding benefit programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or comparable work experience in lieu of degree
- 3-5 years experience managing and administering Canada benefits and pensions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Fluent English proficiency required; Advanced proficiency of Canadian French is a plus

You will be seen as a subject matter expert for your assigned programs, supporting the HR team with queries and escalations. You will be responsible for crafting effective communications for HR, managers, and employees regarding benefit programs, leveraging various communication channels.

You will be a key contributor to the successful administration of our benefits and pension programs, ensuring compliance with Canada laws and regulations. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with 3rd party administrators and service providers, and support the HR team with queries and escalations.
