Job Title: Payroll and Benefits Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our team at Atlas Copco. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for managing all payroll functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing, and supporting benefits processing.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring system functionality and compliance with legislation, internal processes, policies, and programs.
  • Prepare, verify, and process all employee payroll-related payments and adjustments, including regular pay, benefit payments, union payments, and special payments.
  • Handle and resolve payroll and benefits issues and discrepancies, as well as handle employee payroll and benefits issues promptly and respond to governmental entities as needed.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including completing, verifying, and processing forms and documentation for administration of benefits such as pension plans, leaves, employment, and medical insurance.
  • Maintain and update employee records in the payroll systems, ensuring all data is current and accurate, and participate in process improvement projects.
  • Act as the Business Key User (BKU) for the Company's payroll system, ensuring that the payroll system is functioning properly, including regular system verifications and updates to maintain optimal performance. Stay updated with Dayforce updates, enhancements, and training.
  • Responsible for various payroll and benefits process improvements.
  • Assist and follow-up with onboarding and offboarding processes, including system processing and training.
  • Manage time and attendance records, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Prepare, process, and submit required reports to support business needs and decision-making.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees regarding payroll and benefits.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions for employees and managers on the use of the Company's payroll system, including creating training material and user guides.
  • Comply with the organization's environmental, health & safety, recycling, sustainability efforts, and quality assurance policies and standards.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.
  • Proven experience with Dayforce HCM.
  • Bilingualism – French & English is required.
  • Active member with the Canadian Payroll Association and holds a CPM or PCP designation.
  • Experience in multiple provincial payroll and benefits administration.
  • Self-starter eager to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, able to accurately complete reports and analysis.
  • Able to work independently and meet the set goals.
  • Proven ability to interact with different levels of the organization.
