Position Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer, reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, you will be instrumental in developing and sustaining applications and backend services for the user-generated content (UGC) team within the Commerce division. We seek a candidate with substantial senior engineering experience, particularly in the E-commerce and SaaS sectors.

Your primary responsibilities will center around backend services, predominantly utilizing Python, Scala, and Ruby on Rails. Ensuring scalability and high performance will be critical as we expand and integrate our services into the broader Emplifi Suite.

This role demands a profound technical comprehension of our systems and products, enabling you to provide technical guidance and make authoritative decisions when necessary. You will be responsible for upholding technical excellence within the team, promoting coding standards, secure coding practices, automated testing, thorough documentation, and ensuring our codebase remains clean, consistent, and maintainable.

This position is remote/hybrid, ideally suited for candidates in the Eastern Time Zone.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and engineers to address complex challenges in the e-commerce and content marketing domains, leading feature projects from inception to completion.
  • Utilize your expertise to enhance engineering best practices, tooling, quality assurance/testing, documentation, and other essential processes for our expanding team.
  • Oversee projects across various Pixlee services, including scalable backend APIs, visually appealing consumer-facing galleries, and our curation platform.
  • Consistently influence and guide the trajectory of our product offerings through a blend of technical and user-centered thinking.
  • Maintain clear communication with the customer success team and clients to ensure they derive maximum value from our product offerings.
  • Leverage your infrastructure and scripting skills to support team-wide DevOps initiatives and engineer enablement efforts.
