Your Role
We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineering Lead specializing in mining process plants to contribute to our growth in Western Canada. The selected candidate will be instrumental in all phases of engineering projects, from initial studies to field implementation, with a strong emphasis on detailed engineering. As a senior member of the mechanical engineering team, you will ensure technical excellence, identify new business opportunities, and support team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive mechanical scopes of work, budgets, and proposals.
- Conduct high-level engineering assessments on major mechanical systems, including crushing and grinding circuits, flotation circuits, leaching circuits, and dewatering processes.
- Lead mechanical components of conceptual design studies, pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering efforts.
- Act as a vital team member for both small and large brownfield and greenfield mining projects.
- Engage in site visits, inspections, condition assessments, commissioning, and testing (site visits typically range from 3-10 days at a time, up to twenty-five days annually, negotiable during the interview).
- Mentor and coach junior and intermediate engineers, sharing knowledge and enhancing team skills.
- Promote a workplace culture that values enjoyment while delivering high-quality professional results.
- Oversee process plant layout design as a significant asset.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven expertise as a Mechanical Engineer in mineral processing plant projects.
- Experience in base and precious metals is advantageous.
- Proficient in interpreting PFDs and process design criteria, overseeing plant layouts, mechanical equipment selection, technical bid evaluations, and pump sizing.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 12+ years of relevant engineering experience in the mining sector, with a preference for at least 5 years in consulting.
- Must be registered in Canada.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Willingness to travel for site work and short-term assignments.
- Site experience is considered a strong asset.
