Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineering Lead – Mining

BBA Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineering Lead to join our team in Western Canada. As a key member of our mechanical engineering team, you will play a crucial role in all phases of engineering projects, from front-end studies to field implementation, with a focus on detailed engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop mechanical scopes of work, budgets, and proposals for mining projects.
  2. Perform high-level engineering on major mechanical packages, including crushing and grinding circuits, flotation circuits, leaching circuits, and dewatering systems.
  3. Lead mechanical scope on conceptual design studies, pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering for mining projects.
  4. Be a key team member for small to major brownfield and greenfield mining projects, providing technical expertise and guidance.
  5. Participate in site visits, inspections, condition assessments, commissioning, and testing, with occasional travel to project sites.
  6. Provide mentorship and coaching to junior and intermediate engineers, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance skills within the team.
  7. Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, while delivering high-quality professional deliverables.
  8. Oversee process plant layout design, ensuring efficient and effective design solutions.

Requirements:

We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record of technical expertise in mechanical engineering, particularly in the mining sector. A university degree in Mechanical Engineering and 12+ years of relevant experience are required. Experience in base and precious metals is an asset. Strong technical skills, including the ability to interpret PFDs and process design criteria, are essential.

What We Offer:

BBA Consultants offers a competitive annual base salary, ranging from $130,000 to $210,000, based on hours worked.
